SAFETY
Marmot Concrete Services Ltd. is committed to maintaining a Health and Safety Program conforming to the best practices of our industry. The prevention of occupationally induced injuries and/or illnesses are given priority over operating productivity. Our goal is zero accidents and injuries.
Co-operation and participation in the Safety and Health Program is carried out by Senior Management and has a trickle down effect, which shows all employees at all levels the importance of the program.
Our company has a no tolerance policy for drug and alcohol use in the workplace or violence in the workplace. We have strong policies regarding respect in the workplace and working alone.
We employ an on-site National Certified Safety Officer. We are members of the Partner in Injury prevention program, and have maintained our Certificate of Recognition since 1997.
Training is the key to our safety program. Formal training for Supervisors include: Prime Contractor, Leadership for Safety Excellence, Principles of Health and Safety, Construction Safety Training System (CSTS), Managing Work Site Investigations, Construction Environment Awareness and Substance Abuse.
All employees receive WHMIS training and Flag person training is offered to those who require it. The majority of our employees have First Aid training.
All new employees at Marmot Concrete are trained for their position by an experienced employee and all employees are encouraged to be watchful of themselves, their co-workers and all sub-contractors on site. Working together, we are able to achieve excellence in all aspects of our operation and maintain a safety record that exceeds industry standard.
ENVIRONMENT
Marmot Concrete Services Ltd. considers protection of the environment to be of prime importance, and conducts business in an environmentally safe and protective manner. We train our employees and sub-contractors in house and through recognized training facilities to meet or exceed government industry standards. We work with government industry and other interested parties in meeting laws, regulations and standards which will benefit society and cause little disturbance to the environment as a whole.
Marmot Concrete assesses the environmental impact of all operational activities .We develop and implement a prevention/control plan to ensure we are working according to government legislation, as a minimum standard.
Marmot Concrete responds to concerns from developers, owners and general public with positive action and communication which accomplishes positive results.
